2019 Haerenga | Roadshows

Nau mai e ngā uri o TupeririWhakapiri maiwhakatata mai kia kōrero tahikia kai tahikia noho tahi ai tatou.

The Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust invite Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei whānau to the 2019 Haerenga | Roadshow. These hui will take place during the months of March and April, 2019 and across both Aotearoa and Ahitereiria. Scroll down to read the schedule.

With your help, the Trust will develop a Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei long-term plan. These hui are therefore for you, the uri of Tuperiri to provide your vision for our tomorrow, for our future. We intend for the sessions to be relaxed and open and encourage whānau to contribute.  A large proportion of time spent in the hui will see us all participating in fun and easy whānau activities. These whānau activities will be future focused with the intention to draw out whānau whakaaro around what is important to us now, and in the years to come.

The Trust has partnered with an external provider (KPMG) to help manage whānau input that comes from the Roadshow hui. KPMG will assist with the collation and analysis of whānau kōrero. The intention is to share these learnings with our whānau following the Roadshow.

Whānau Activities

The Roadshow hui are not like any of our previous hui - We thought we'd try and do things differently, which in essence gives our whānau the opportunity for more input. We, the Trust, plan to do more listening than talking. Alot of time in the hui will be spent participating in whānau activities. KPMG have designed these activities.  We hope the whānau like them.  You will have the opportunity to participate both at the hui, online and via our phone in hotline.

Scroll down below for a sneak peak into what's ahead.

What does living well look like in 2050 for our whanau?  What if Te Puru o Tāmaki were the first kapa haka rōpu to perform on Mars. Share your ‘what if…’ statements at the Roadshow via pen and paper, or post it on the Roadshow fb page with the hashtag #NWOHaerenga2019. If you want, add a photo or video.

Try putting yourself in the mind of your future mokopuna 50 years from today. Now write a postcard back to yourself in 2019.  What does whānau life look like? What have they achieved? How did they get there, who helped them? What amazing successes has Ngāti Whātua Orakei whānau experienced over the years? Write your postcard at the Roadshow hui OR Follow the link here  to send yours onlinenow!
