Weaving Waiora is for pëpi, tamariki, hapū māmā, māmā and their whānau. As a whānau, hapū māmā and māmā share their stories, bring out their whanau knowledge and 'weave' experiences together while exploring Te Ao Māori in relation to pregnancy, whakapapa, ancestral stories, traditional birthing and parenting practices.
Whanau have the opportunity to meet other hapü (pregnant) and breastfeeding mämä, gain confidence in creating a healthier lifestyle and connect into local support services available in the community while learning to make Poi, create an Ipu Whenua, weave a Kono—flax basket, and much, much more.
