Description

We are recruiting a unique and exciting career opportunity to work with the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Rawa, the commercial arm of the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Group.

You would be working alongside a smart and inspirational team, committed to maximising the opportunity to create an asset base that generates funds used to support the tribal development and goals of the hapū.  This opportunity will combine your passion for a diverse and exciting communications role with your interest in tikanga Māori, while working in an organisation committed to providing positive outcomes for future generations.

Whai Rawa is involved in a diverse range of exciting projects across a range of developments and industries and you will be helping to raise the profile of these to a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.

A key facet of this role will be to assist the organisation to keep its key messaging and story-telling consistent across a wide range of activities and channels, to help develop its ‘brand voice’ and to act as it’s ‘brand guardian’. Importantly, you will work to progress the communications and marketing aspects of key project initiatives including new property developments and tourism ventures.

The role is diverse and multifaceted and you will have experience communicating across all media channels, including having a strong social and digital skill-set. You will be a strong writer and a natural story-teller, and have fantastic people skills and the maturity to navigate a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders. There is a clear over-arching communications strategy in-place and you will work closely with the CEO and other team members, as well as externally with a PR agency to ensure effective, timely and communication outcomes that reflect this. This is a full 360 communications role with the opportunity to work across all areas of the communications mix with no day being the same!

The work environment is second-to-none.  There is a supportive, team focused culture and outstanding leadership and huge scope to grow both the role and your career within Whai Rawa.

We are seeking a self-starter with a can-do attitude.  You will have 3+ years in previous communications roles and some knowledge of, or interest in learning te reo and a keen interest in tikanga Māori is essential.
