About the role:

This is a key relationship management role, responsible for understanding and growing our relationships across Tāmaki Makaurau, and ensuring that key stakeholders understand our position on important kaupapa. Working closely with the CEO and Board, this role will ensure we are connecting with the right people, at the right time, with a clear agenda and objectives. This is a fast-paced, exciting role where you can make a huge difference.

 

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of a stakeholder engagement plan for the Group
  • Support CEO and Board to actively grow key relationships across Tamaki
  • Manage external appointments that represent Ngāti Whātua Orākei
  • Measure and monitor stakeholder perceptions and insights

 

 Key Requirements:

  •  Demonstrably strong relationship building skills  
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, politically charged environment
  • Experience working with iwi would be advantageous
  • Fluency in Te Reo strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Initiative and proactiveness to work autonomously 
  • Ability to manage priorities and multi task

Working closely with the Chief Executive and Board, this fast-paced and varied role will drive the media and communications programme for Ngāti Whātua Orākei Trust.

About the Role:

This role will take responsibility for all communications, media and public relations that comes from or on behalf of the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement the media and communications strategy for the Trust.
• Be the primary point of contact for all media and communications enquiries.
• Work with subsidiary teams to ensure alignment of media and communications messaging.
• Own and deliver annual and interim reporting for the Trust and Group.
• Deliver position papers on key issues.
• Manage the external communications, web and social media presence for the Trust.
• Drive Central and Local Government engagement and positioning.

Key Requirements:

• 8 years experience in communications/PR/media
• Communications/Journalism or related degree
• Understanding of tikanga
• Established media relations network
• Strong relationship building skills 
• Experienced working in a fast-paced, politically charged environment 
• Fluency in Te Reo

About the role:

With a newly-appointed CEO, an exciting opportunity has been created for someone to support the Board and CEO to help shape their head office functions. This role is new to the Trust and provides the opportunity for the right person to make a huge difference.
The role will be challenging and varied, but at the heart will be ensuring the effective running of the office administration and processes necessary for a significant governance entity as well as being the ‘go to’ support for the CEO and Board. You will be instrumental in the establishment and functioning of the Trust Office, including taking ownership for the facilities, resources, IT, documentation and related compliance elements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diary and travel management for the CEO and Board members 
• Organisation of board meetings and collation of minutes & reports 
• Event organisation for internal and external events 
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders 
• Other ad hoc administration duties and special projects when required

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years EA experience at a senior level
• Experience working with a Board of Directors
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral 
• Initiative and proactiveness to work autonomously 
• Ability to manage priorities and multi task
• Strong relationship building skills and confidence in dealing with people

Fluency in Te Reo advantageous but not a requirement, however must be open to learning and improving Te Reo capability

Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei in partnership with Aurecon have one cadetship opportunity on offer!

 

This cadetship will give you practical experience in the construction, infrastructure engineering sector, whilst also giving you the opportunity to complete short courses and the enrolment into a formal qualification.

 

This cadetship is open to all Tāmaki based whānau members who think they would thrive in an office and field environment. No prior experience is required, but an interest in the engineering field is preferred.

 

Successful applicants will be registered members with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
