On the 28th April, 2022, we will receive the long awaited decision from the High Court Judge. This involves us returning back to the High Court to hear the decision live. Due to the capacity of the Court room, unfortunately we have only been granted a minimal number of seats. These will be allocated amongst our whānau witnesses, kaumātua and leadership team. We still intend to show a strong front on the day. We encourage whānau to join us on this day at the High Court. If we have to sit outside, kei te pai tērā, at least we’ll be together. A bus will be organised to take us from and to Ōrākei Marae. A live stream in the wharenui will also be made available for those who do not travel to the High Court.
The final decision from the Judge may take a while for our legal teams to unravel but as soon as this is done, we will hold a whānau webinar or kanohi ki te kanohi hui to share these details with you all. It is highly likely that the decision will be appealed by either side and possibly go to the Supreme Court. For transport and catering requirements, we ask whānau to please register your interest to attend on the 28th April. Tamariki are welcome but must be under the supervision of an adult at all times. Register through this link.
