Matua Rautia Programmes & Services.
‘Matua Rautia’ is a whānau, or a community-based, approach which calls for collective responsibility in the nurturing of children and places emphasis on the collective in ensuring wellbeing for children. Matua (parent) and rau (hundreds) reflects the philosophy that raising a child is not an individual endeavour, but rather a job for the whole community.
