The Ōrākei Visual Framework is a visual
document created by Ngāti Whātua
Ōrākei in conjunction with the Ngāti
Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board, that
brings to life the work developed for
Whenua Rangatira (Takaparawhau &
Ōkahu) and Pourewa
The purpose was to create a visual
document that encompasses the
many ideas from whānau and the
Ōrākei community that have been
considered over the years, into a
collective vision for the whenua, for
now and future generations.
Whānau and community engagement timeline:
2014 – Three whānau hui held
2016 – Community submissions received (Pourewa)
2018 – Three whānau hui
2019 June – Two whānau hui and two wider community hui
2019 July – Incorporate feedback from whānau and wider Community
As part of our commitment to consultation, the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board are excited to share this document with the world. we’re keen to hear your feedback, and to align to the needs and visions of the Ōrākei whānau and community for the next steps.
Community hui/presentations were held in June 2019. Attendance to the hui and feedback on the Ōrākei Visual Framework. was welcomed. We are accepting feedback up until Friday 26 July, 2019.
In June , 2019 we engaged directly with both Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei whānau and the wider Ōrākei community in a series of engagement hui. The objective was to firstly share the Ōrākei Visual Framework and then to seek feed-in and whakaaro from these Stakeholders.
