Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Britomart and Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Council present ✨ Tūhono ✨
An immersive ara toi (art trail) celebrating Matariki through light, storytelling and contemporary Māori Art. Stretching from Te Kōmititanga, through Takutai Square - Britomart and along the downtown waterfront to Te Tōangaroa connecting a series of city spaces.
Created by a collective of Ngāti Whātua ringa toi (artists) - Arama Tamariki-Enua, Caine Taihia, Uira Nahi and Maraea Shaw in collaboration with Angus Muir Designs - the trail draws inspiration from symbolism and journey of waka, exploring the ideas of movement, gathering and hītori (history) across generations.
Nau mai, tautī mai - Bring your whānau and friends and discover a new way to experience the heart of the city after dark with Tūhono ✨
