Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei are excited to share plans for a proposed Hauora, Sports & Recreation Centre to be built here in our local community.
The vision for better health and well-being for our community has for many years been a strategic priority for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. A Hauora, Sports & Recreation Centre for our whānau, for our friends, for our community is an exciting initiative bringing us one step closer to turning a long-held dream into reality.

The facility will prioritise health, community accessibility, and sustainability, grounded by the principles of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga. It will serve as a welcoming community hub promoting healthy lifestyles, fostering connections, and prioritising well-being and environmental responsibility.
The proposed site will be in the vicinity of the Ōrākei Domain at the current site of the Ōkahu Bay Bowling Club and will be located above the projected 100-year sea level mark.
