We are excited to announce the launch of Mā te Huruhuru, Ka Rere - Banqer Beyond, a transformative four-week experience designed to empower you with essential knowledge about money and financial literacy. We’ve been working with Banqer to bring our whānau this exciting new programme kicking-off on Monday 22 April 2024. 

 

 

Mā te Huruhuru, Ka Rere - Banqer Beyond is more than just a programme—it's your opportunity to gain the confidence and skills needed to navigate the financial world successfully. Over the course of four weeks, you will embark on a journey to learn key concepts such as managing bank accounts, understanding interest, debt management, financial planning, homeownership, investment strategies, and much more.

  • Mā te huruhuru, ka rere - Banqer Beyond is a four-week experience designed to equip participants with essential knowledge about money, enabling them to confidently navigate the financial world. Throughout the programme, participants will learn key concepts such as managing bank accounts, understanding interest, debt management, financial planning, homeownership, investment strategies, and more. 

  • Participants will engage in learning activities through a version of the Banqer Beyond platform. This platform serves as a financial playground where participants can explore various financial concepts and practice using virtual Banqer dollars. It provides a safe and interactive environment for learning about money management. 
  • Mā te huruhuru, ka rere – Banqer Beyond is available to registered members of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei in Aotearoa and Australia. If you're not currently a registered member, please register here.

  • A kauhau tuihono is a webinar session where participants will have the opportunity to hear from presenters who have inspiring money stories to share. These webinars are an integral part of the Banqer Beyond experience, offering valuable insights and perspectives on financial matters. Participants will attend four kauhau tuihono sessions throughout the programme.

  • Mā te huruhuru, ka rere - Banqer Beyond is open to participants of all ages who are interested in enhancing their financial literacy skills. However, the programme is structured into two cohorts: rangatahi (youth aged 13-17) and pakeke (adults aged 18-35). Participants will engage with content and activities tailored to their respective age groups. 

  • No prior knowledge about money is required to participate in Mā te huruhuru, ka rere - Banqer Beyond. The programme is designed to accommodate participants with varying levels of financial literacy, from beginners to more experienced individuals. Regardless of your starting point Mā te huruhuru, ka rere - Banqer Beyond offers a supportive learning environment to help you build essential money management skills. 

  • Registration for Mā te huruhuru, ka rere - Banqer Beyond can be completed through the designated registration process, which involves filling out the online form on the Banqer Beyond website.
